And I would add another argument that refactoring becomes much more difficult. You can change a class name with a few clicks in Eclipse but you will need to manually edit properties file in proposed way. Oh, and don't forget to read project documentation that you have class names coded in your properties! Forgot it? Than re-read it again.
Oh, I forgot Eclipse can look at Properties files. But not sure it can be used as contr-argument.
