This is a more formalized idea that what I've been doing in my JSON-RPC (XmlHttpRequest with JSON syntax instead of XML, with RPC semantics) where I have but a signle method to call back with client-side failures. I'm already familiar with Log4J, so I don't know why I didnt think to use the same paradigm -- maybe because I just hacked it together quickly instead of thinking long term. |
