I confess to being another evil proliferator of the log4 branding in the JavaScript space with my JavaScript logging framework log4javascript (http://www.timdown.co.uk/log4javascript). However, I think my solution satisfies all your requirements of abstraction, flexibility, configuration and extensibility. I'd suggest anyone wanting JavaScript/Ajax logging should take a look at it.
