 Mapping Mashups with the JXMapViewer
Subject:  Problem with Projection using Own Maps

Hi all,

This is a great bit of software but im having trouble with the custom maps. I used Tile Cutter nad cut the 5400 x 2700 image off Nasa's website and used the tiles from that as a source through a webserver on my host machine.

That all works fine and as you said it squares it off. The problem with this is that the JXMapKit and Viewer see the Squared off image differently to the way they see the web image. They take the squared off image as the globe and so if I give it the coords 0,0 for set Address it goes to the bottom of the map at the center instead of the center of the equator as it believes the world map is half the height it actually is.

So that makes the projection system all out. How do I make this so it does not happen.

regards

Enyfeo
