Forcing the program to use the system look and feel undoubtedly has several advantages:

- The look and feel is familiar to the user.
- It is not immediately visible that the program is written in Java.

This sound a bit like: We should hide that the program is written in java. Why should we hide that the program is written in Java? Maybe because the standard L&F's from Java are not very usable? I prefer using the Plastic or the Kunststoff L&F instead of the native L&F's, because they are always outdated.
