It was a while ago when I first reviewed it but let me think. It does fine with returning events but I was thinking more along the line of getting access to the renderer to do really complicated things. In truth only the embedded commercial browsers are truly hackable, but that's because they were all designed exactly for that purpose, significant customization by their customers.
That said, I still think CalPane is great and wish I could find out what it's current status is and if the owner would consider open sourcing it.
