Discussing the embedded world is not your strength area. I would submit that if you look around your house more processors are of the embedded kinda then not.
Additionally we live with 2K limitations every day, all the time. Just yesterday we had a meeting over 512 BYTES of data space vs 1024 BYTES of data space.
Recently we got jazzed over a 25 cent processor (4 data pins, in an 8 pin package), with a 1K flash ram limit, and NO ram. Instead of ram the processor has 32 registers.
While I am not foolish enough to NOT predict the end of anything (my grandfather was a blacksmith) and I have heard of the demise of programmers for what 25 years now? It'll be a while. |
