News: Java vs C++ "Shootout" RevisitedJun. 16, 2004 Source: Java Developer's Journal Recent benchmarking tests show that Java is significantly faster than optimized C++ in many cases, a finding that runs contrary to conventional wisdom and the Great Computer Language Shootout, whose outdated results were re-run for the new test. Keith Lea, who ran the new test, says the results surprised him, as did his discovery that "no one should run the client JVM when given the choice."
