The Netty project has released version 1.5.0 of the event-based API. "In this release, a ThreadPooledEventDispatcher interface is added and Session.fireXXX() is now public to increase event dispatcher pluggability and customizability. Performance degradation when updating interestOps has been fixed. A NullPointerException is not thrown anymore when IoProcessor stops. Thread priority changes exactly as the user requested now."
