Cloudscape 10.0 Beta

IBM developerWorks has updated their Java database application Cloudscape, soon to be Derby, to version 10.0 beta. "In Version 10.0 Beta, Cloudscape has been modified to support only DB2 compatible syntax. This facilitates a transition to DB2 in environments where an enterprise class database becomes necessary. Existing applications running on Cloudscape versions prior to Version 10 Beta will need to be rewritten and in some cases redesigned to account for these changes." There's no sign of a code release in the Apache Incubator's Derby project site.
