News: ServerSide Report from the Java Tools Community Press ConferenceJan. 07, 2004 Source: TheServerSide TheServerSide is featuring their report on the press conference held Tuesday by the Java Tools Community. "Toolability was defined as a measure of how easy it is to built tools around a standard or technology. The group feels that Java has been weak in this area, and has focused more on the runtime of standards. The JTC itself is NOT a standards body, as it will work WITH the JCP for those requirements. We should see some of the following come out of the group: common build api; common Project Object Model, metadata model, preferences; common way to deploy components; and common views on deployment descriptors." The report also includes a quick Q&A from the press conference. Return to java.net News. | ||
