JAXP 1.4 latest draft build available.

Jaxp 1.4 has the latest and greatest new XML pull model(StAX) implementation integrated. JAXP 1.4 is part of current Java platform under development(Mustang). Some of the key features in StAX are, 1) Streaming APIs for XML 2) New technology to parse XML in pull style 3) Bi-directional API for reading and writing XML 4) StDeveloped via Java Community ProcessSM (JCPSM), JSR 173. JAXP 1.4 also has a new over-loaded functions in various factories which allows application to specify factory name and class loader for instantiating factory. This is a draft version of the JAXP 1.4 binary and will be updated weekly. Note:- JAXP 1.4 sources are already available at java.net as part of open source development process.

JAXP 1.3 latest stable build available !!

Latest stable version of the Java API for XML processing (JAXP) version1.3 is now available at Java.Net. This version is based on the same code base as the Tiger implementation, including the high-performance XSLTC compiler. As with previous versions of JAXP, we are cooperating with ASF and the code will eventually make it back to xerces and xalan. JAXP 1.3 includes support for all the latest versions of your favorite standards (DOM level 3, SAX 2, XML 1.1), the old goodies (Namespaces, XSLT 1.0, XPath 1.0, XML Schema), and some new standards (XInclude). It includes some very useful new APIs including a validation API that can be used to preparse an schema for performance. The validation API can support multiple validators, so it can support, for example, Relax NG. JAXP 1.3 also includes a new API for XPath manipulation, and other goodies. JAXP 1.4 Development Live On java.net

JAXP 1.4 Development is now live on java.net.

JAXP 1.4 contains an integrated implementation of the Sun Java Streaming XML Parser (SJSXP) which implements StAX, JSR 173.

JAX-WS 2.0 EA3 posted on java.net

I just posted the JAX-WS 2.0 early access 3 on java.net.

This is the release has been extensively tested and only a one known bug exists. Hopefully this will be the last early access release before the specification goes final, so this is your last chance to download JAX-WS and tell us what you think.

In this release new support for RESTful Web Services has been added. A simple restful sample application is included in the samples to show how a RESTful web service can be created and invoked.

[Ann] freebXML Registry 3.0-beta1 release

Dear java.net community members, The freebXML Registry team (formerly ebxmlrr team) is pleased to announce the release of version 3.0-beta1 of our royalty-free open source implementation of the ebXML Registry standard. The freebXML Registry project is based on JWSDP 1.6 while the Service Registry in JWSDP 1.6 uses the freebXML Registry project as its core. The new version provides a near, feature complete implementation of Registry Full conformance profile for the OASIS ebXML Registry 3.0 [4] standard. The only missing feature is support for Single Sign On (SSO) based on the Registry SAML Profile. This implementation therefor currently only claims conformance to the Registry Lite profile for the OASIS ebXML Registry 3.0 standard. The freebXML Registry also provides a feature complete implementation of level 1 conformance profile of the Java API for XML Registries (JAXR) API [7], as well as a new Web based thin client user interface to the registry and an administration tool command line interface (CLI). Also included are implementation of two profiles of ebXML Registry, the WEB Services (WS) Profile [11] and the WSRP Remote Portlets Profile [9]. The WS and WSRP Profiles are based on working drafts and are therefor experimental and subject to change in future release. The freebXML Registry project welcomes proposals for prototyping additional profiles of ebXML Registry. Please post proposal for new profiles to the ebxmlrr-tech mailing list. Unfortunately, when the features are passed to as one single argument (-features:wsi,explicitcontext,nodatabinding), command prompt interprets the comma as well as whitespace as an argument separator. This happens only when shifting through arguments. The solution is to not shift the arguments but pass them directly to ant. Introducing the freebXML Registry project

The goal of the freebXML Registry project is to deliver a functionally complete reference implementation for the OASIS ebXML Registry specifications as defined by the OASIS ebXML Registry Technical Committee.

This project is part of the JWSDP community but the project has been ongoing for quite some time and its code repository is located at SourceForge. The code is available today under an open source license.
