Store objects using the Preferences API
The Preferences API is one of the alternatives discussed in Craig Castelaz's java.net feature article Configuration Blues . In his developerWorks article Store objects using the Preferences API , Greg Travis presents several code examples to get you up and running using the API. He then extends Preferences to allow you store Objects by first turning them into byte arrays.

JavaOne submissions opens October 22
JavaOne 2004 will be held a little later next year: June 28 - July 1. The Call for Papers is scheduled to be open from October 22 through November 21.
