Java User Groups e-Gen a RAD tool for Java: The e-Gen project is an open-source RAD tool that is a subproject of the Sou Java Java User Group. The objective " is the rapid development of applications with scalability, performance, manageability, reliability, security, quality and low cost." Heap Roots Java applications can leak memory and tracking the leaks can be frustrating. Heap Roots has been posted to the IBM alphaWorks site. "HeapRoots is a tool for debugging memory leaks in JavaTM applications through analysis of 'heap dumps.' [... The Heap Roots ] commands run algorithms on the data or query for information about the data. HeapRoots provides a command-line interactive interface where one enters commands and gets results."
Utilize the Database Schema Browser Saurabh Singh presents code for a servlet that "uses Java Database Connectivity (JDBC) APIs DatabaseMetaData andResultSet to fetch information from a database and display it to users" in his JavaWorld article Utilize the Database Schema Browser. "This simple servlet provides users with customizable options to retrieve a listing of all tables in a schema, tables matching a certain criteria (e.g., only tables that start with TBL), and all tables of a specific schema. You can also get a listing of all views."
